Saliva Smirk's Summer Camp for Dogs!
Story Preview Edition (This includes the first two chapters, coloring pages, trivia, and photos)
Moving to a new neighborhood was not a part of Abigail's summer plans, not even if their newly built, upscale house included a walk-up attic studio, library, her own walk-in closet, and 50 acres of woods to explore; it didn't change the fact that she had no friends to share it with. None. Zilch. Nada. Her mom reassured her that making new friends would be easier here. Abigale, however, wasn't like any other girl on earth. She was shy, introverted, and lacked confidence — and the face she studied in her new bedroom mirror; she knew long before they moved in, and it never changed.
When Abigale’s mom brings home an 8-week-old puppy, Abigale is happy to take over the role as the puppy's caretaker, starting with choosing the proper name. She chooses the name, Pearl, because her fur shone like the black-and-white pearls in the sunlight, but naming her pup was only the start of their unraveling friendship. As time goes by, Abigale's confidence builds from her new responsibilities, and as it does, her old self no longer feels like it's stuck on her, and for the first time in her life, she likes the girl she see's in her mirror.
One day while on their daily walk, Pearl gets stuck to a wad of candy melted onto a piece of paper. Pearl runs in circles trying to free herself from the sticky paper. Abigale pulls off the flyer and discovers it’s an invitation for a chance-in-a-lifetime summer camp experience. Not just any camp, but one for her and Pearl, and not only that, it broadcast its own reality television show – nationwide!
From the time she was four, Abigale has dreamed of being a television star, but she could never step outside her bashfulness. Abigale's convinced fate delivered her a personal invitation to reach for her dreams, and reach is exactly what she must do to, when an unexpected wind snatches the advertisement from her grasp and carries it away. Abigale races after the flying paper with Pearl chasing right behind her. If they were going to become television stars, she had to run faster than the north winds carrying away their only chance. Little did she know the chase was just the beginning of the sticky mess unfolding ahead. . . .
